Description
True to its spirit, Bryn Anderson's debut solo effort SYNAPSE brings to us all Bryn's musical vision.
This is a direct extention of the musical family tree that brought forth the best of continental Europe's guitar phenomenons.
SYNAPSE is synonymous with songs of mystic passion and guitar playing that strike the heart and mind with soul.
The first SYNAPSE release, Sword of Truth, creates a brilliant intensity and brings a new clean edge to the family of heavy-metal rock and its idiom.
Music tailor-made for original thinkers, the tracks on Sword of Truth are written and performed to dissolve the boundaries of limited thought.
The name SYNAPSE came from a Time-Life book called "The Brain" that Bryn was reading at the time.
A synapse is the space between two brain neurons where chemical messages are passed back and forth between the cells in order to turn them on or off.
Every thought, movement or body function is affected by these synapses and Bryn tied in idea of their music affecting the brain, and decided that SYNAPSE would be the perfect name for his project.
Bryn describes SYNAPSE's music as "heavy", yet melodic, classically influenced music with a blues-based vocal line.
"We try not to get too bluesey, but you can definitely hear the influence here and there." The title "Sword of Truth" was chosen on a phisophical point of view.
Truth is supposedly a double edged sword that can unite or divide depending on the intent of use -- good or evil.
"Sword of Truth" was created to entertain as well as to provide material for thought.
Bryn's music is not superficial, and his material goes rather deep at times.
"Sword of Truth" is the premier CD from Bryn Anderson's SYNAPSE, released in August 1990.
Official promotion did not start until January 1991.
