Starry Gazey Pie
The Bees (U.S.)
It was the end of the dust bowl era: times were lean. Roosevelt had just established a "works/progress" labor camp in Indiana. It was there, amidst the scattered ashes of America's dreams that the Bees formed.

Description
Paste Magazine * "...a growing circle of die hard fans tear their hair out wondering why they aren't a national hit... until they become one."
The Rage * "Nashville's It Band"
Performing Songwriter Magazine * "Brilliant and incomparable"
Music Row Magazine * "Best Unsigned Band of the Year"
The Bees formed when Jason Lehning met singer/songwriter Daniel Tashian. Tired of predictable modern rock, they began to conceive a sound relying heavily on songwriting and harmonies, to round out the sound they brought in drummer David Gehrke and upright bassist Robbie Harrington.
"SXSW Picks - As yet untitled, but near brilliant, is the upcoming debut from The Bees, a Nashville-based pop/roots outfit that's the brainchild of former T-Bone Burnett protg Daniel Tashian." Andy Langer, Austin Chronicle
The band is Tashian on guitar and vocals; Lehning on piano, juno 60, vocals; David Gehrke on drums and vocals; and the latest of the revolving door bass player position is filled by John Deadrick.
