Description
David Ozab holds a Ph.D. in Composition and Intermedia Music Technology from the University of Oregon. He specializes in computer music, but has also written instrumental solo and chamber works, vocal works, and orchestral works. His computer music has been programmed at festivals and conferences, both nationally and internationally, and is featured on his CD Tempo Ficta. He is a member of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), the International Computer Music Association (ICMA), the American Composers Forum (ACF), and the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC).
"David's music is abstract and highly textural, constantly evolving and intertwining. With his acute sense of timing and balance, he crafts each piece into a journey in its own right. This is easy music to do badly, and very hard to get right; David gets it right."
--Jeffrey Radcliffe (www.tinctoris.com).
Tempo Ficta is a collection of compositions written by Ozab while a doctoral student and Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon. Three of the works on this CD ("Spirals," "The Testimony of Light," and "The Blue Hole") have been featured at major electronic music festivals.
