Abandon in the Amber
Stayte
The result of three years of relentless attempts to plagiarize artists such as Ministry and Orgy somehow spawned an original collection of twelve songs that reflect the numerous issues of all involved. STAYTE has problems...sexy problems...PRECIOUS.

Description
STAYTE have been refining their brand of industrial metal for the past four years. The founding members, lyricist/vocalist Josh Bradford and guitarist/programmer Clayton Worbeck, are originally from Vancouver BC. Their story dates back six years to 1997 when they were both members of the same self-destructive goth band. From the ashes of that short-lived project, Joshua and Clayton formed an industrial band called Carbon 6. The band released a gritty, under-produced EP (The Way In) which combined with their unorthodox live performances, attracted a dedicated fan base and the attention of Nefer Records (an independent label based in Vancouver). Nefer signed the band and released a full length album at the end of 1999. This album, entitled "Growing Pains", was a more mature and polished record that reflected the growth of the band and captured much more than just the grit and angst of Carbon 6. This inspired a name change and STAYTE was born.
The enthusiasm surrounding the release of this debut album also sparked the need to venture out of Vancouver's claustrophobic live scene. STAYTE decided to tour the West Coast - with a focus on California. By the end of 2001 they found themselves living in Southern California and in need of regrouping (touring from BC to OC, had taken it's toll in the form of girl friends begging for individuals to come home, others having bad drug trips resulting in psychotic delusions and, of course, disappearing drummers). Disillusioned on many levels and without a live band, Joshua and Clayton funneled their frustrations into composing an album's worth of new songs - collectively known as 'Abandon in the Amber'. This follow-up record to 'Growing Pains' adds a diverse chapter to the STAYTE discography.
In 2002, Joshua and Clayton shed themselves of those who were hooked on the traditional trappings of Rock & Roll and recruited new members to help translate these new songs from the studio to the stage: bass prodigy Rick Warner (Orange County), session drummer Pat Labuda (Vancouver), and veteran keyboardist Bernard Ducrocq (France). STAYTE's new lineup has been winning new fans and rekindling the interest of the old ones - from the pier at Huntington Beach to the Las Vegas Strip from internet surfers on the East coast to the die hard fans in Vancouver.
STAYTE are currently working on an appropriate conclusion for their biography. Please submit all ideas to stayte@stayte.com. All submissions will be considered and the winning entrant will receive an enchanted afternoon with the band member of their choice.
