Lee Quick's first album, "Do You Think?", is a rootsy ride through the wry side of folk and alt. country. But don't put on your old dusty hat just yet: this lyrical, sharp-witted collection touches on a variety of styles eclectic enough to keep you "thinking quick."

"Do You Think?" features ten Lee originals plus two songs co-written with James Quick, including the fan favorite "Folk U.", a tongue-in-cheek look at musical (and sexual) education. One standout song, "If I Apologize," originally penned in 1940 by Lee's late grandmother, Ann Whitman Dudoit, is receiving emotional accolades from listeners; it's been described as "something Patsy Cline should have sung." And "Bored To Hell," with its quirky, catchy hook, shows Lee's dark and unique sense of humor.

The CD was produced by New Orleans and international levee-billy master Mike West and features performances from West, Dave Stover (bass), Matt Swiler (drums), Trevor Brooks (piano/organ) and Gina Forsyth (violin). The independent album was a "quick" project, requiring only a few lengthy recording sessions in West's 9th Ward shotgun double during eight weeks of sweltering New Orleans autumn.

Down-to-earth, straight-shooting and occasionally funny as hell, "Do You Think?" has both a brain and a heart.

Lee Quick dishes out alt. country, folk-rock, and whatever else strikes her. The Louisiana-born singer-songwriter-guitarist performs sharp, well-crafted songs with a cool wit and a warm voice, described as "rootsy and wry, cynical and sentimental." Her original songs show eclectic influences, from the Beatles and Elvis Costello to Johnny Cash and Lucinda Williams.

Lee started with her first three original songs at an open mic in January 2001, and in October 2003, made her debut at the Bluebird Cafe Writers Night in Nashville. She performs regularly in her home base of New Orleans.
