Description
The Stompers were founded in 1977 by East Boston native Sal Baglio. Barooms,Frat houses, Beach shacks to touring with the Mighty J. Geils Band, The Beach Boys and many others.
Signed to Boardwalk Records in 1982. The single "Never Tell An Angel" made it's Billboard debut with a bullet. That same week Boardwalk Records filed Chapter 11.
1984:Mercury Polygram releases "The Stompers One Heart For Sale" Title song is also the single.
The Stompers were produced by Ritchie Cordell, who wrote pop gems, "I Think We're Alone Now" & "Mony,Mony" and produced Joan Jett, Tommy James & the Shondells & The Ramones. Glen Kolotkin was the co-producer and engineer.Glen's roster includes Jonathan Richmond, Greg Kihn, The Rubinoos.
Sal Baglio wrote all songs for The Stompers. "I told 'em how to dress too!!" Today, Sal is the guitar player with Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes [tomhambridge.com]
Many people may now know Sal as Rock E. Rollins. He released
"Rock E. Rollins The Post-Modern Adventures of 21st Century Rock n Roll Boy in 2003 and tours with his new band Rock E. Rollins and The Ravers. "I did not simply change my name, I've intergrated some of my personalities." Sal said with a wink. Perhaps he had something in his eye.
