Description
Formed in 1995 by five best friends, Vintage has become one of central Arkansas' most popular groups. They've performed with the Conway, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Monroe, Louisiana Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Central Arkansas Jazz Band. The group has headlined at numerous county fairs and been featured performers at the nationally recognized Toad Suck Daze festival. Vintage has appeared on Little Rock's KATV morning show, Good Morning, Arkansas and are frequent entertainers at civic and cultural organizations across the state. The Log Cabin Democrat says they "sparkle with professional pizzazz," and they've been called "Conway's own pop divas." Members of the group include Angela Greenland, Donna Hutchinson, Sherry Norrell, and Liz Parker on vocals with Kathy Peery on lead keyboard.
The group started singing together for fun, but word soon spread and they found themselves being booked for parties, dances, banquets, and wedding receptions. They quickly added bass player David Reese, percussionist Don Greenland, and jazz pianist Strats Pavlov to round out the sound of the band.
The women come from all types of musical backgrounds, having been trained both vocally and instrumentally. Donna, Liz, and Angela all play piano as well as sing and Sherry is a folk guitarist. Kathy enjoys playing gospel piano as well as Beethoven. But they all agree that the group's forte is singing all the old standards.
Frequently compared to the Lennon Sisters, Vintage has a soothing, mellow sound that blends three-part harmony with jazzy accompaniment. Their musical style spans all generations as their fans include both young and old alike. You're sure to enjoy some of your favorite songs sung the Vintage way!
