Description
"His dead-on sense of humor, no-nonsense approach to lyrics and instrumentation, and his ability to wear his heart on his sleeve while staying gruff and detached make his songs prepossessing and addictive"
- Performing Songwriter Magazine
"...Good storytelling sense and deep commitment; what marks Pinamonti as his own man is effectively straightforward language and scintillating acoustic guitar technique"
- MusicHound: The Essential Album Guide
"Superb... Live, Pinamonti is a mild-mannered and unassuming frontman who packs a wollup with his songcraft"
High Wide and Handsome is the latest release from Brooklyn-based musician John Pinamonti. It is the fruition of several years of gigging and writing on the East Coast and is receiving rave reviews and airplay the world over. Featuring such stellar friends as Tim Beattie, Boo Reiners and John Abbey and the fine production efforts of Scott Anthony, High Wide is an artistic statement Pinamonti has been waiting to make. Growing up in California, Texas and Oregon immersed him in the look and feel of the West, and the 4 years he spent playing and touring the U.S. and Canada with African master drummer Obo Addy solidified his desire to someday make music inspired by his travels and experiences. He says "I had to leave the West for a while to gain some perspective on it. Now I feel like the space and music that I grew up around and what I've lived through is finally coming out in my own style." John has also recorded the intimate Tragico Magico and he continues to perform in the New York area with various line-ups of great friends and players.
