Description
Texas native Terri Hendrix has performed to sold out audiences from coast to coast and at some of the biggest festivals in the country, including the Newport and Philadelphia Folk Festivals and the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Terri's instruments include harmonica, guitar and mandolin. Lloyd Maines, who has toured with and produced Terri's recordings since 1997, covers the rest of the musical landscape on guitar, dobro, mandolin and occasionally pedal steel.
Terri's musical track record includes seven CDs all released and sold on her own independent label through her Web site's e-commerce store and 53,700 member mailing list. Her newsletters (GoatNotes), gain Terri new fans monthly and continue to grow in popularity due to her unique storytelling abilities.
Dirty Linen says "Terri Hendrix has a vivid musical imagination, a quirky sense of humor, and a clear-eyed take on the politics of life and love. With the high energy, rhythm, and talking blue-folk-rap style she employs on some of her tunes, Hendrix is well on her way to becoming the beat poet laureate of the folk world."
"Celebrate the Difference," Terri's latest release, is a children's record about embracing life, awkwardness, fears, failures, victories, and individuality. This kids record is all over the map stylistically without a care in the world to genre of music. After all, the title is "Celebrate the Difference." She hopes that those who give it a listen want to drive to it, dance to it, laugh to it, and create memories that will live long past the music on it. Here's what she has to say about the songs on "Celebrate the Difference."
