Description
This is my first full-length solo LP, featuring 14 original songs, such as "Matters of the Heart", "If It's True", and "Remembrance", which was chosen to be on Episode 21 of the Discovery Channel's "Dr. G: Medical Examiner" show. The record features many different styles, ranging from folk to rock to alternative to country to just about anything else I could come up with. It features the production talents of Nicolas Pesce of fishBIT and GW Duncanson of Gingersound Studios. Half of the songs were recorded in my basement studio over a four month period, some of the songs were done at Geoff's, and the rest at Nick Pesce's on a 4 track tape machine. I'm really proud of this as my first full body of work and it was good to get this one out there.
Enjoy,
Anthony

About Anthony da Costa...
Anthony da Costa is a Folk/Alt Rock, Singer/Songwriter from Pleasantville, New York. At age 15, he is the youngest member of the Hudson Valley folk music collective, Tribes Hill. Anthonys writing and performing draws from a deep well of rich musical influences, ranging from Bob Dylan and The Band, to Dan Bern and the Beatles, to Neil Young and Johnny Cash.
Anthony is known for his unique interpretations of classic songs drawn heavily from the Dylan and Bern catalogs but even more so, for his original work, featured on four recordings, most recently, Rearrange (2006), a collection of 15 tunes, including Remembrance, which aired on a Discovery Channel series. Anthonys fifth CD, due in late 2006/early 2007, is produced by a great singer/ songwriter, Fred Gillen, Jr., and features Fred and the wonderful Americana trio, Red Molly, as special guests. Anthonys five CDs represent a portion of the more than 100 songs he has written to date. He is also a prolific, largely self-taught musician, playing guitar, mandolin, harmonica, piano, drums, djembe, trombone and just about anything else he picks up.
Anthonys performance schedule is equally prolific. He plays at coffee houses, stages and festivals throughout the Hudson Valley region and beyond often performing for two hours straight WITHOUT a coffee break! He gigs at such places as Coffee Labs, Dragonfly Caf, Peekskill Coffee House, Golden Apple Coffeehouse, Chthonic Clash, Common Ground Coffee House, Starving Artist Caf and Boone Dog Coffee House. In 2006, Anthony was featured at a special showcase at the legendary Towne Crier Cafe and has played at the Paramount Center for the Arts and Columbia Universitys Postcrypt Coffeehouse. A member of the National Folk Alliance, Anthony also performs at folk festivals, like the Pleasantville Music Festival, and at Tribes Hill and Acoustic Live showcases at Falcon Ridge and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference.
Anthonys greatest joy is sharing the stage with awesome singer/songwriters, like Fred Gillen, Jr., Red Molly (Abbie Gardner, Laurie MacAllister, Caroleann Solebello), Rich Deans, Montgomery Delaney, Steve Kirkman and even Pete Seeger! Inspired and influenced by their musical artistry and integrity, he considers them to be among his musical heroes. In turn, Anthony actively promotes their live appearances & recordings, ending his weekly e-letter to friends and fans with one simple request: Support Live Music!
