Description
Lots of keyboards, bass and drums, with a sprinkling of guitar, makes up the hypnotic sounds of Electric Mustards new CD Synthetic Mind. Composed, performed, recorded and produced by Mark Bonasera, Synthetic Mind encompasses many influences from electronicia, ambient, IDM, rock, and orchestral music styles. Slip on a pair of headphones, sit back and enjoy as you are taken on a musical journey through lush atmospheres over smooth backbeats.
Mark Bonasera has been involved in Chicago's music scene for many years. Formally trained first in percussion and later in piano. He studied music in college and has played with several Rock, Jazz Fusion and Big Band groups also including a short stint with the Elgin Symphony. He has written music for string quartet, choir, and organ and for the last 4 years his main writing concentration has been electronic music.
In 2000 Mark decided that it was time to step away from the band situation and do his own personal musical creations. Using a 4-track recorder he started laying down demo songs with keyboards, bass, guitar and drums. As technology improved and quality recording equipment became more accessible, Mark started putting his own studio together which, in 2005, allowed him to complete his first electronic music recording the self titled Electric Mustard EP. In 2006 he released the first full length Electric Mustard CD - Synthetic Mind.
