Description
Making this CD was a big first step towards following my musical dream. At the beginning of the recording process, I was a complete greenhorn, relying completely on my producer, Lawrence Knight. He had personal connections with many of the fine studio musicians in Vancouver. By the end of the experience, I gained enough confidence to list myself as co-producer.
It was a real treat working with such talented musicians. One of the backing singers, Sue Leonard, sang with k.d. lang. I especially appreciated having my daughter, Veda, sing on two tracks. I also loved being in the studio, singing and having creative input into the final mixes.
People from various cultures have enjoyed and been touched by this music. It has found its way to Russia,South America, Germany,Cuba, Indonesia and Australia. One Vancouver listener played it so much, she wore it out and ordered a second copy!
At the time I made this CD, I had fantasies of being a Country artist on a big label, so I went to Nashville and recorded a few songs. That's a whole other story I won't go into now, but having that experience helped me change my musical direction, and for that I am grateful.
Feel free to e-mail me with comments or questions ( I don't have a website yet) and thanks for listening.
