Description
Women on Wax Recordings once again presents one of the hottest collaborations in the Detroit underground music scene today - Reggie Dokes (Psychostasia Recordings, Transmat), and Pirahanahead (W.O.W. Recordings, Mahogani Music) gang up to work out as the Napi Hedz. The Blessed and Bliss EP (WOW-009), brings a dance groove that transports the listener to the scenic shores of India. Track one is a 12-minute epic entitled, Raga Paramananda (Extreme Happiness). This original was produced by Napi Hedz and driven by Sachin Chitnis rhythms on the tabla and his melodic chanting. The second track showcases Minxs Queen Beats, which is the deep and funky take on Raga Paramananda. Her dub-like remix pulls out the essence of the original track as she adds the tripped-out beats and throbbing bass lines that have become a part of her signature sound. The third and final track is called, "Appreciation (Give Thanks)". This track offers a down-tempo vibe with melodic, harmonic vocals expressed by Pirahnahead and displays percussion courtesy of Sachin Chitnis.
