Pie Boys Flat has sound all together original! Started in October of 2003, PBF was living and playing in New York City for less than a year before they were off to the Greek Islands for four months of gigging with plenty of time for writing which produced many of their latest, greatest songs! (Not to mention the distribution of almost a thousand copies of their first EP to varying locations around the world!) Now there are numereous gigs around NYC and venues all up and down the east coast. UPROOT THE ISLAND is the first full length album from the band. Released in 2006, this is a collection of original work with a really hot and fresh sound! Their really is no one else with this blend of rhythm and melodies! A unique sound is established with strong percussive rhythms and minimal use of an ordinary drum kit. Then you hear a heavy structure of sounds with the 'island-tinged' guitar and bass. Now you're ready for the dominating 3 part vocals which are layed on thick to emphasize these unique voices, writing, and lyrics! This album is an extremely well rounded point of view of Pie Boys Flat! And you can have the highest expectations for how tight and smooth the live shows get to be!
