Description
Robert Temple's deep connection to music began while listening to recordings of his mother's folk singing in the basement of his New Jersey home.
Listening to rock and roll, R&B and later funk and rhythmic international dance music, as well as working and living with people of diverse cultures in Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland, and driving a taxicab in the streets of San Francisco all helped form the basis for his stories and his style.
Combining his love of the groove with insightful social commentary and a storyteller's style, he outlines a unique musical vision: sensitive, sexy, passionate and sometimes humorous.
His song "Clearcut" is a call to defend nature against those who would exploit it for profit.
This was written after a trip to the centuries old redwoods in northern california.
"Who Drops the Bomb on the Ones Who Drop the Bomb" rings truer now then when it was written, while the us was bombing Yugoslavia in 1999 Robert has been the leader of two active Bay Area bands, Unruly World and Robert Temple and Serious Noyz.
He has signed a number of publishing deals and placed in national song contests.
In the last couple of years, Robert has developed his powerful vocal style and open tuning, fingerstyle acoustic guitar playing.
This has led to the release of his CD "If He Could Only Reach Her" on the Broken Pretzel Music label.
