Description
Catapult; is bursting at the seams with neo medieval rock romps in the language of lush melodic acoustic guitar and percussion instrumentals. "Helland's songs aren't extended instrumental virtuosic ramblings, but rather catchy, tightly knit songs that you'll have playing in your head for hours." Each song acting like a movie that takes you to another place." With "Tall Tales from the Tavern", "Ogre Dance", "Race Against Time", "Spirit of Tintagel", "Monarch of the Glen" and 7 more anthemic instrumentals.
Scott is now touring the US. Check his website for dates! www.scotthelland.com
Scott derives inspiration from medieval, celtic and renaissance music and movies and soundtracks. He also has an unabashed love of European hard rock and metal bands which partially accounts for the physicality of Scott's music along with the fact that he spent his early musical days playing bass guitar in punk and metal bands. As a teenager in the early eighties, Scott played with the bombastic, no holds barred bands Deep Wound, which included Lou Barlow and J Mascis, and continued into the `90's with Outpatients, with whom Scott toured in the U.S., Canada and South America. Both bands released several critically acclaimed underground recordings.
