Description
The Staboola McPet Quintet was formed in August of 2005 and has been playing music non-stop ever since. This versitile group plays several styles of jazz including: afro-cuban, latin, swing, funk, etc... and has been influenced by many artists from Thelonious Monk to Carribbean Jazz Project. The instrumentation, consisting of vibes/marimba, saxophone, piano/keyboards, bass, and percussion, is part of what makes the group and their sound so unique.
They are incredibly pleased to announce the release of thier first album What Now?, which features several of the group's original compositions, as well as two covers including Dave Brubeck's "Blue Rondo a la Turk."
Four of the five members in Staboola are currently studying music at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, and their fifth member recently graduated from FLC with a degree in music performace. Each of the members has been studying and playing jazz since a very early age, and they feel very priviledged to have the opportunity to pursue a career in something they love doing.
Staboola plans on gigging extensively throughout the summer, including a tour to the east coast in June/July, with many stops along the way. Staboola would like to thank their fans for the continued support and appreciation of their music.
