Description
Singer/Songwriter, Tresey, was born Schonte Patrice Hamilton, on Jan. 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the age of one, she and her parents relocated to Chicago, Illinois. She began singing at the age of five in a children's choir. At the age of eight, she graced the Philippians Temple COGIC Congregation with her first solo, "I'm Gonna Move on up the Mountains," by child star Deleon Richards.
She continued her musical pursuits and toured with a community theater company when she was only twelve years old. Throughout her school years she performed with numerous choirs and theater productions.
She began writing songs and performing in talent showcases during her teen years. She participated in Chicago Talent showcase of 1997 and impressed panelists from Motown and Jive Records . In 1999 she was a winner of Chicago's V-103 talent showcase.
She relocated to Los Angeles, CA where she performed for the legendary Andrae Crouch. Impressed by her vocal ability, he encouraged her to join his praise team and choir. During her time in California she also worked with local artists; writing, singing and arranging.
She moved back to Chicago and auditioned for a female R&B group, Che, but following the direction of her heart, she returned to her first love, gospel music.
She has recorded with various church choirs and she has contributed background vocals to various recordings. She has performed for Andrae Crouch, Be Be Winans, R. Kelly, Gary Hines of Sound of Blackness, Congressman Danny K. Davis, Damon Wayans, D.L. Hughley and many others.
