Description
An original brainchild of composer/arranger Aaron Kruziki, the Kruziki Transatlantica Quintet performs an eclectic mix of classical, tango, Armenian, Balkan, Greek, Arabic and Jazz music. Taking into consideration the importance of individual improvisatory expression, KTQ performs original compositions and arrangements. Featuring an uncommon lineup of saxophone/flute/clarinet/duduk, violin, piano/accordion, bass and drums/percussion, this band's book is built around the individual uniqueness of each player. KTQ is sophisticated and refined for the concert stage, yet adventuresome for any nightclub.
In 2006, KTQ was the recipient of DownBeat Magazine's best Jazz instrumental small group award, and in 2005 took home two additional DownBeat Awards for best Jazz instrumental group as well as best classical chamber group.
