Description
David Vector revs forward on all twelve cyllinders with GO, the much-anticipated follow up to 2005's Reality Show (released under the name "Project Vector"). The electronica/rock hybrid that fans will remember from his previous album is still the engine driving these twelve new songs, but it takes you down different roads not explored on the last trip. Hints of retro funk find their way into the design, along with more ambient electronica touches reminiscent of William Orbit's work with Madonna.
From the frantic-paced "Rush meets Depeche Mode" groove of the title track to the dance club pulse of "Str8 & Narrow"...from the electronic world music vibe of "Revolutions" to the steamy, bump-and-grinding throb of "Sweat," every single song is different yet bears the undeniable stamp of David Vector's indiosyncratic musical personality. No stranger to controversial lyrics, David pulls no punches this time either - "Ultraviolet Boy," with its tale of a young gay man who takes advantage of his straight "object of desire" in a vulnerable moment, is sure to raise eyebrows...not to mention "Sweat," a song inspired by a gay adult film star and "Antidote," which delves into bigotry and religious extremism.
Fusing the organic and synthetic, combining style with substance, GO takes the listener on an intriguing, wide-spanning journey. Climb in and fasten your seatbelt...we have places to go and things to see.
GO is an Enhanced CD (audio CD with additional CD-ROM content) and includes the following extras:
* "GO" Music Video (Windows Media Video)
* "The Making of GO" - Documentary Video (Windows Media Video)
* "GO - The Driver's Manual" (20-page PDF booklet with bio, photos, and lyrics)
